Chalet Ski Announce Expansion

This week Chalet Ski announced not only the addition of some great client developments to make booking easier, but also February 2011 that they are to continue to expand their operation with 7 new sites being launched.

With a large portfolio of luxury boutique ski chalets the natural progression was into the lucrative luxury chalet market which they have confirmed they will be doing with Luxury Chalets. But they aren’t stopping here, recognising the growing family ski market, Chalet ski will also launch a Family Ski website (Ski Family) and a Ski In Ski Out site. (Ski In Ski Out). The family ski chalet site will be dedicated to chalets that provide a high level of services to family ski clients, including services such as in-house nanny care, children’s entertainment and children’s activities and general assistance. The Ski In Ski Out site will be dedicated to clients looking for true ski in ski out chalets that are next to the piste.

Chalet Ski’s expansion however does not stop here, and what has surprised many in the industry is Chalet Ski’s swift action and focus on capturing the high demand for peak week ski holiday with four dedicated sites for Christmas (Ski Christmas), New Year skiing (New Year Ski), half term (Ski Half Term) and Easter (Ski Easter). Set to go live during the ski half term holidays and with a dedicated availability for solely the dates applicable to each site, these peak week sites will negate the need to troll through several sites and various chalets to find the right one that fits skiers requirements and importantly is availabile.

Ski In Ski Out

If you are looking for some best chalets to ski, then ski in ski out is probably one of the criteria to apply. Ski In Ski Out Chalets are a specialist company that operate luxury catered chalets, many of which are a level above the usual luxury chalet. In terms of best chalets, their Val d'Isere portfolio is exceptional and Chalet Yeti is just one of the stand out chalets. Casa Noa however is our favourite, a ski in ski out Park City villa that apparently has 13,000 square feet of living space!

Best Family Chalet

This week we thought we would start with family skiing by taking a look at what makes the best family chalets stand out. So here is our top 10 features that we believe are the test in respect of whether a chalet really can claim itself as one of the best family chalets:
  1. Number 1 has to be ski in ski out, or at least close to the lifts and main runs
  2. Experienced and passionate staff and operator when it comes to family skiing (not necessarily however the branded family ski companies (brands aren't unfortunately people), but the ones who's guestbook have families waxing lyrical and when you talk to them they ooze knowledge and experience relating to family ski holidays)
  3. A high staff to client ratio
  4. Indoor swimming pool
  5. Games Room of a good size and with good activities
  6. Close to the local ski school
  7. Nanny or childcare facilities on call
  8. Children friendly menus cooked fresh and produced by a qualified chef (certified in food hygiene as apposed to a student fresh out of school or university) who understands childrens preferences
  9. Luxury jacuzzi (the parents should always be pampered too)
  10. On call driver to collect children whenever necessary
